Shifting Between Gears To Achieve Higher Acceleration
You are mixed UP. The angular acceleration of the wheel does not effect the entire car's acceleration. What will, is the force applied to the ground from the tires.

Wheel's torque and differential gearbox
Interesting question! I think that the driveshaft would increase its speed from the engine itself as a response to the increase of the wheel's rotational speed.
