Installing a new 220V single phase motor on my air compressor. Carelessly hooked up ground wire to line 1, line 2 to line 2, and line one to the the other group of wires.... there were 3 terminals. I turned on the switch for a few seconds and it ran but not fast and I smelt a burned smell. I shutoff disconnected and wired properly and there is no movement or sound. Totally stupid mistake, just wondering if the motor is done now or maybe a I wrecked a capacitor or something replaceable ? How to check things out with an ohm meter?
