I have mode shapes and eigen frequencies from FE simulation. I have modal matrix and eigen frequencies corresponding to each mode. The mode shape is mass normalized. I am required to correct each mode for damping, i.e to add 1% modal damping to each mode. Can anyone help , how can I add 1% modal damping to each mode.

$\begingroup$ Modal damping does not change the mode shapes. Just add a damping matrix to your model. $\endgroup$ – alephzero Jan 11 at 17:36
