I am trying to validate the results of linear analysis from RSTAB (structural analysis tool) with ABAQUS. The model comprises of approximately 800 members. Each member is composed of built-up sections (sigma section placed back to back). The problem is that the two sigma sections in a given part (3D, shell) has two different thicknesses: 3.0 mm and 5.0 mm. Creating two different shell sections and assigning them manually to the part proves to be tedious. Is there any alternate way to go around this problem? Kindly help. Many thanks in advance.enter image description here
