# Heat transfer and rise in temperature

Consider an object of mass M and specific heat C, and initial temperature T1. Let energy is transferred to the object at the rate of W watt. I want to calculate temperature of the object at time t. My understanding is following. At time t, total energy transferred is Wt joules. Using the equation, Q=MCT, where Q=Wt and T is change in temperature, I will get the desired result. Am I correct?

• Yes, you're correct. – J. Ari Sep 9 at 18:10
