May 18, 2017 at 15:53 comment added Eric S @Ariser I have no idea what you are getting at about the valve not being direct acting, but there are many types and sizes of bistable solenoid valves out there. I would do some web searching. Servos turning ball valves are going to be really expensive.
Sep 18, 2016 at 14:33 comment added Ariser just checked that valve you referred to. Unfortunately it is not direct acting, so my pump pressure is presumably too low to keep the flow up. I'm going to try out the servo solution, but I fear the mechanics could get complicated.
Sep 18, 2016 at 13:47 comment added Tobin S Micro servos have attachable arms that can change amount of movement, completely adjustable. If you have a hobby shop nearby, check it out. Servos are usually 9.6 vdc. Some could be less.

Sep 18, 2016 at 10:50 comment added Ariser Do you habe an idea what a valve machined in demand nicht cost? I think 300€ may not be enough if one works really fast. Servo sounds interesting. Could it be capable if turning a 1/4" ball valve?
Sep 18, 2016 at 6:55 comment added Tobin S Where are you located? Seems the U.K. has more than a few results that I have found.
Sep 18, 2016 at 6:44 comment added Tobin S Do you have any machining capability? Could make the valve out of brass and the cylinder out of steel. The biggest issue would be control. Temp from a sensor sent to a controller to the valve switch. Oh, another possibility would be a microservo from the radio control world.
Sep 18, 2016 at 4:15 comment added Ariser The bistable solenoid valves you mean are difficult to obtain. I never got hold of one despite trying. If you know a reliable source, I'm glad to hear. Do you know of thermostates with G1/4" vor G1/8" bore?
